Excluding partitions has no effect

Thread needs solution

Hello! I created a backup job to backup my whole PC and in the exclusion list, I added my partition D: that contains only games. However, the backup Acronis True Image is creating contains the partition D:. Why isn't my choice respected?

Make certain the Sector by Sector is not chosen in the backup task.  It is not possible to exclude anything using Sector by Sector.

If that is not the case from a admin commanc prompt run chkdsk /f /r on the disk to check for error.  Disk errors can and do trigger Sector by Sector backups even if that option is not selected in the task.

Disk sector backup is not enabled and checkdisk reports no errors.

Please confirm that chkdsk has been run on all disk partitions including any hidden partitions or those without drive letters.

Sorry, but doesn't a sector-by-sector backup take up as much space as the source partitions' capacity? This is definitely NOT the case for me. Anyways, I checked all partitions listed by mountvol with and without drive letter.

Ok, this problem has been reported by other users but there is no definitive solution to the issue.  I suggest you open a suuport case and elevate the issue to Acronis directly.

OK, thanks for the feedback mates!
