folder backup size doesn't make sense

Thread needs solution

I have a files and folders backup that is 56.5 GB when I select only My Documents, My Pictures and My Videos.  When I add the AppData folder True Image shows a source size of 1.4 TB. My C: drive is only 453 GB, so this doesn't make any sense to me.

I have recently performed a chkdisk /b c: and found a bad file, and I still have the same problem with the sizes.

Derrick, this sounds strange to say the least!

Some tests that you may like to try if not already done.

Download a copy of TreeSize Free and use this to check the size of your AppData folder to see if this also suggests such a large size?  If you do see it as very large, then drill down to see what is actually hogging the significant space?

The only reasons why ATI would show an incorrect size, as far as I am aware, would be due to a problem with the file-system index (which CHKDSK /R should resolve) or because there are some type of symbolic links involved which are pointing to data on another drive?

Thank you for responding Steve! FreeCommander and the folder properties show the AppData at 78 GB.  I'm in the process of replacing my hard drive do to a failed drive test, so this issue may be related someway.
