Installing TI 2017 over TI2012

Thread needs solution

Hi

I recently bought 3 licences for 2017. I installed one on my desktop after clearing out v2015. No problem and running fine. I then did similar on my wife's laptop without problems.

Finally I installed on my daughter's laptop but slipped up and I installed over v2012 (brain dead not thinking). This seemed at first to work OK but I find I can't clear out the old backups from 2012 which she doesn't need now. I also get hang ups where prog seems to go through the motions but doesn't end up doing a backup. I want to uninstall the whole 2017 program from this laptop and start again. This won't cause me any data loss problems as none of the old stuff is wanted. What I am worried about is that after the uninstall when I have reloaded 2017 will this be accepted as a valid install? It could look as if I was trying to do 4 installs from my licence covering only three.

George...welcome to these user forums.  You can do the uninstall without data loss.  When you do the install, you should not have license problems...if you do, Acronis will resolve them quickly.

After you do the uninstall, you should also run the cleanup utility...link below:

The link has an excellent description on using the cleanup utility.  You won't have any problems.
