Issue with daily backup

Thread needs solution

I have my True Image 2017 software set up to do daily backups of an important data drive at 5:00AM each morning. When I check the destination drive there are multiple incremental copies of the backup saved appxoximately 3 minutes apart. Also, each day a full backup is performed even though I have it scheduled after seven (7) incremental back ups.

When I open the TI2017 program, I find a red X between the backup partition and the destination drive.

This has happened even AFTER I have wiped out my entire back up set and re-entered it in TI2017.

This issue creates A LOT of data on the destination...and given that this occures for all eight (8) of the partitions that I'm backing up (the others are on a weekly basis but they all still do multiple saves).

Is it possible that my copy of TI 2017 somehow got corrupted and is doing this multiple save process as some sort of weird error??

Any thoughts on what I'm doing wrong???

ANy hel-p/answer is GREATLY appreciated.

tmarini, we will need more information from you in order to try to understand why your daily backups are having the issues you have described?

Please download the MVP Log Viewer tool (link in my signature below) and use this to look at the messages being written to the backup task logs - this may help show why the backups are failing / repeating.

I would suggest changing the Error Handling options found on the Advanced page of your backup task Options, to either reduce the number of retries done when an error is encountered or to increase the time between doing retries from being in seconds or minutes, to be an hour or more.  I normally turn off all Error Handling and check the logs if a backup then still fails.

Screen shots of your backup task configuration settings would also be helpful if you can post these.
