just want to clone a partition, not a disk

Thread needs solution

Yesterday I bought Acronis True Image 2017 and I managed to clone a 512 GB Kingston SSD to a 500 GB Samsung EVO 750 SSD.

Since I didn't need the Dell partitions any longer, just the one larger Windows 7 partition, since the target is a Lenovo Y70-70 touch. I have SYSPREP'ed the disk already.

I built a Rescue media on an USB stick and now I'm trying to boot that stick on the target system an
try to copy just the partition.

Kloning the whole source disk would overwrite the Lenovo Boot tools and hidden recovery partitions on tha target disk.

So where is a way to just klone the partition?

Christoph, welcome to these user forums.

Cloning can only be used at a disk level, not for just making a copy of an individual partition.

Are you actually moving between different hardware / computers here?  You say you don't need the Dell partitions and that the target is a Lenovo Y70 which suggests that you may be doing so.  If you are, then you will probably need to use the Acronis Universal Restore tool in order to move your Windows 7 system from the Dell system to the Lenovo system.

Getting back to your original question, to copy just one partition you can use the Acronis Backup to make a backup image of the source partition, then Restore that backup image to the target drive.  You should also include the System Reserved partition that is used by Windows to host the Boot Configuration Data store information that allows Windows to boot correctly.
