Manual launch of backups
I moved from TI 2011 to TI 2017.
I made a full backup of several partitions. Now I have a project with several critical steps. I want to do a backup with TI after every step on the same destination location. So I need manual control to make incremental backups. How do I do that? If I select the base full backup and click "Add backup" I get a full backup, although the backup scheme is set to incremental. I supposed it would Add incrementally to the selected backup.
In TI 2011 one had a direct control. With TI 2017 things seem to be hidden behind automatic backup chains, which I don't use.

Straetch,
Welcome to these user forums.
Bobbo is correct...you will need to create a backup task. The pictures below show the task settings I would recommend:
Once you have selected your source and target, Hit the "Options" Button...picture 1.
Under the Schedule tab, select "Do Not Schedule"...picture 2.
Under the Backup Scheme tab, select "Incremental" as the Backup Method, then select "Create Only Incremental Versions after the Initial Full Version"...picture 3
Then you can review the remaining tabs for additional settings.
Hitting the OK button takes you back to the main screen with a green "Backup Now" button in the lower right corner...picture 4
The first time you hit the "Backup Now" button, a full backup will be created. Each subsequent time you hit the "Backup Now" button, an incremental file will be created.
Hope this helps,
FtrPilot
