Opening .tib backup file
I can open older backup .tib files by clicking on them in Win10 file explorer. Any backups made with True Image 2017 will not work. It was really convient to be able to open picture files by clicking on the .tib file and then finding the folder I wanted. Is there a way to do this?

Try number 05 in my post below. Usually works if double click is not working.

Yes I can right click on the .tib file and mount it. That will work. But it is more convenient to just double click on it and have it open like it does in my order back up files. The older files I am talking about were created with true image 2013. Is it the way they were created then or should 2017 work the same way?

Bill, just to clarify what the situation is here:
Can you double-click on backup files created by ATIH 2017 in File Explorer and explore the contents correctly?
Is it only the backup files created by ATIH 2013 that do not open in Explorer?
KB 1689: Backup Archive Compatibility Across Different Product Versions shows the official statement from Acronis for what backup file versions have been tested as being compatible with the 2017 version, this only includes 2015 and later versions, but other users have found that some earlier version files will open.
Did you try the suggestion from Rob above which was:
If you're having the "Please locate the last volume..." issue when opening backups in Windows Explorer - try deleting all the files in C:\Users\[your_username]\AppData\Local\VirtualStore\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Database
This has resolved this type of issue for other users so can be worth giving it a try.

It is just the opposite of what you are saying. Sorry if I didn't make myself clear.
With TI 2017 installed and 2013 uninstalled, I can not double-click on backup files created by ATIH 2017 in file Explorer and explore the contents correctly.
On the other hand, I can double-click on backup files created by ATIH 2013 in file Explorer and explore the contents correctly. I could possibly understand if it were the other way around.
I did not try what Rob suggested.

Bill, thank you for the clarification. A further question, did you uninstall ATIH 2013 before installing 2017, or did you just upgrade from 2013 straight to 2017?
The ATIH 2017 FAQ document (in left column Useful Links) states the following:
If you already have Acronis True Image 2014 or older versions, you need to delete these first and then install Acronis True Image 2017.
I would recommend making a clean install of ATIH 2017 as follows:
First uninstall the current Acronis software normally via the Control Panel.
Next, download the Acronis Cleanup Tool (link in my signature), run this as Administrator then restart the computer to complete the cleanup actions.
Note: You will lose all your backup tasks and task history. You can save the task configuration files by saving a copy of the C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts folder contents (to restore back later).
Finally, do a clean install of ATIH 2017 (restore your task files - you will still need to configure any schedules for these) then check that the issue is resolved for opening your .TIB files.

I did a complete uninstall with Revo uninstaller Pro of TI2013.
I might have solved the problem though.
I just installed TI2017 a few days ago and found out that there was an update. I downloaded the update and after clicking around in File explorer I was able to open the backup file. I'm not sure if I clicked on the right thing in file explorer or it was the TI update but now I can see the files.
Since they are picture files it would be nice to see the thumbnails of the pictures but they don't show up. If I mount the image I can see the thumnails. Anyway it seems to be working.
Thanks you very much for you're time. I try to figure things out on my own but sometimes I need some help and sometimes I amjust lucky and stumble upon the answer.
