Restoring files to a PC which does not have Acronis True Image

Thread needs solution

I need to restore a couple files from a TI-2020 backup of my laptop onto a PC which does not have TI installed.  What is the best way to do this? Thanks...RDK

You have two options available to you:

  1. Restore the files on a PC which does have ATI 2020 installed and put them on a USB stick or on a cloud share such as OneDrive, Dropbox etc where the other PC can get them from.

  2. Boot the other PC using the Acronis rescue media along with having the drive with the ATI 2020 Backup .tib or .tibx file, then restore them in that way.

Of the two options, I would suggest that 1. is the easiest to do as it can be done from within Windows just using Explorer with Copy & Paste.

See KB 63240: Acronis True Image 2020: how to restore files from a backup (Windows) - and scroll down the document to the section showing how to open .tibx or .tib files in Explorer by double-clicking on the files.
