TIH 2017 upgrade does not install - Windows 10

Thread needs solution

Trying to upgrade to TIH2017 (from 2015).  When running the TIH2017 install, I get an UPDATE FAILED error:   "The system cannot move the file to a different disk drive." half way thru the install.

Tried running update as Administrator, but got same error.

TIH 2015 running fine.

Any suggestions?  Do I have to first uninstall TIH2015?

Dietmar, it should be possible to upgrade from ATIH 2015 to 2017 without the need to uninstall the older version - that is recommended if you have 2014 or older in the FAQ document.

I have not seen any other users reporting the error about moving the file to a different disk drive in these forums that I can remember and this makes me wonder if you have a non-standard Windows setup, i.e. have you moved any of the user profile folders (aka libraries) to a different drive location?

Have you tried looking at the ATIH 2017 Installer logs which can be found in C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs?  These may throw some more light on what file cannot be moved?

Had to uninstall and reboot, and it finally installed.  Saved scripts did not work after placing into the scripts folder.  Had to remake the backup jobs.

Very frustrating, as always.
