TMP files filling System Drive

Thread needs solution

Since I updated my version of 2017 True Image to build 8029 I appear to have delevoped an issue where the Windows\Temp folder fills up with xxxxxxxxx.tmp files, sometimes they dissappear other times it fills up the drive up and I get a Low Disk Space message and have to try and clear them. Each of these files is 7,532 KB

I must admit I cannot be 100% Acronis is causing this, as it does seem random  but with this update and my  monitoring when it occurs points to Acronis.

I'm using Window 10 64 bit and have run virus checkers and malware checkers.

Anyone else getting this or any suggestions what it might be please, it is getting a tad annoying.

I have attached a screenshot of the present collection of tmp files under \windows\temp

Alan, I have not seen any reports of Acronis creating any volumes of temp files here in the forums and have checked on four of my own system and have no such files in C:\Windows\Temp folder either, so it would be strange if it is causing this on your system?

I would suggest stopping all the Acronis Services and Processes then see if more temp files continue to be created, if so then it cannot be Acronis creating them.  Look at the MVP User Tools - Google Drive link in my signature where you will find some batch script files you can use to stop / start all Acronis Services.  You will need to use Windows Task Manager to end all Acronis Processes but only do this once the Services are stopped as they will be relaunched by the Services otherwise.

Alan, if would be useful to check if the creation date/last modified date of those .tmp files matches the beginning or the end of Acronis activities: backup creation, browsing backups through the Acronis main window or via Windows Explrorer etc.

If these .tmp files persist across system reboots and you find a relation between them and Acronis activities, feel free to open a support ticket at http://www.acronis.com/support/contact-us.html. We would be glad to help you and investigate the issue.
