Using Bitlocker with MVP version of Windows PE bootable media

Thread needs solution

I recently recovered my entire system from one Win 10 system to another identical machine using one USB key containing the MVP Win PE system and another USB SSD containing the Acronis .tib files. I then encrypted the USB SSD with Bitlocker. When I tried using it to recover again there was no way get Win PE to bring up the password window to unlock the SSD and I was unable to see the .tib files in the explorer.

Can anyone help me understand what I am doing wrong? Am I supposed to add Bitlocker somehow to the Win PE bootable media? Is it not possible to use a Bitlocker encrypted drive?

TIA

Jon

Jon, please see KB 56619: Acronis True Image: compatibility with BitLocker for the official Acronis statement on compatibility with BitLocker which makes it clear that the regular Rescue Media (linux or WinPE) has no support for decrypting this security protection.

The MVP WinPE Rescue Media has the capability of including BitLocker support but you need to enable this by the choices you make while creating the media.

I would recommend reading through the sticky topic: MVP Tool - CUSTOM ATI WINPE BUILDER where I am sure that this question has been discussed previously.
