Video mode setup error - using bootable usb media

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I've a similar problem as reported in this old topic:

https://forum.acronis.com/forum/acronis-true-image-2016-forum/video-mod…

using the trial version of ATI 2017 last build, downloaded and installed two weeks ago, on my new Hp EliteBook 850 G4 (Uefi - Windows 10 Pro 64 bit).

I've tried many ways to create the bootable usb media. If I use directly ATI 2017 to create the usb bootable rescue media, the UEFI system boot see it, but selecting the usb in UEFI boot mode, it doesn't start and ask for continue booting, so Windows starts normally.

If I save the ISO image for media rescue, and then I use a 3rd party tool, such as Rufus, to format and prepare the USB as bootable, Acronis inteface finally starts, but reports me this issue when trying to load True Image, let's see the screenshot:

I'd like to avoid using WinPE way, if possible, since it needs installing new additional stuff and space on the pc only for this porpose.

Thanks a lot

Luca

Luca, welcome to these User Forums.

Please see forum topic: Video mode setup error: Error 0x1480006 - HP ProBook 450 G4 which may be helpful to your situation and problem.

Thanks Steve, I found that topic and tried that solutions, but didn't apply to my Hp Elitebook, it has a UEFI 64 bit version.

I'll give a try to new Acronis True Image 2018 just released, to see if it has been fixed.

Thanks a lot

Luca, the good news with ATIH 2018 is that the new Simple method for creating Rescue Media now uses the WinRE data from your installed Windows Recovery environment without the need to download / install the Windows ADK.
