Acronis can't find version 1 of a Full Backup

Thread needs solution

Hello everybody!

I regularly made 2 backups every day at 4 AM.  Full backups. 1 a system image of my C drive. 2 a folder with personal files.

Then, Windows update came and somehow my computer did not load Windows anymore. That was a nightmare!

I was not able to recover. I ended downloading Windows 10 home from the Microsoft website and reinstalling it.

To make things worse, Windows not allowed me to reinstall in drive C [a 120 GB SSD] and the only drive it accepted

was a 2 gigabits drive that had 500 GB available. File History was there...  But that is a separate problem. The fact is I lost

the documents I need the most!  At the time I was not totally worry since I figured out I could recover them from my daily backup.

Here is where my problem came!  I found the backups [I have it setup to save only the last four] and try to open them from Acronis.

Then I get this message:  "Cannot find version 1" See attached screenshot 1.JPG

Thanks for the help you may give me!

Dan

Dan, how exactly are you attempting to recover your data, and what type of backup image file are you trying to recover that data from?

When doing a recovery of the Windows OS, it is best to remove any additional drives from the computer where possible, this would help avoid the issue with Windows installing to the larger 2TB drive instead of your smaller SSD.

What are the file names for the backup images you are recovering from and if you have any incremental backups, are these complete and sequential in name?

Are your important documents included in your system image backup and also your folder backup files?
