Acronis True Image 2018 License
Hey all! So as an IT admin can I use the personal license at my work? I wondered if Acronis would be cool with that? Using the bootable media to backup a restore PCs at work (Not Install the software). I can't be the only one who has done something like this in the past (Non-compliance). What's the worst that can happen? It wouldn't replace the full blown solution we have at work but help out a bit. I don't want to purchase Acronis 12.5. Is Acronis cool with that? All of us at one time broke a EULA or some agreement. It's inevitable. If I do this will Acronis sense a disturbance in the force? XD

A note from Acronis:
Acronis True Image is a product for individuals, families and home offices. It is not intended to be used in business environments and was not designed for the scenario. We firmly encourage Acronis Backup business product utilized in the business environment. Group management and remote administration alone make it worth the price difference, aside from complying with the licensing policy.

Thanks for the info Gaidar, I'll note it for future reference.
You say the TI product was never designed this way. Yet there's plenty of co's out there who have bought licenses, and use it as such from a desktop/laptop perspective. That's definitely how I learned about the product 10 years ago, was @ work...
As to Derpy: I wouldn't suggest doing it, or advertising it if you are. Nor dos Perdido have any right to attack you for asking a valid question.
Smart Deploy really is the bigger dog Acronis should be chasing from an Enterprise perspective anyway.

Jim,
Acronis Backup for PC is not that expensive. We see that majority of business users, who used Acronis True Image in the past, are switching to Acronis Backup. Especially with 12 release - people love it.

Is there anything we can help? We are good at storing data and making sure it is secure and encrypted :)

@Jim Thank you for backing me up! That guy was savage! XD He like roasted me hard man! No, I haven't done anything like this. I just wondered since you know *cough*. You see things irl. I always make sure to follow every licensing requirement. I would never do such a thing, but I'm asking a serious question.
I see no technical reason why you can't use True Image in a business environment. It "would" work great!

"@Gaidar Magdanurov There is something you can help me with. Please stop posting multiple copies of your replies."
The multiple replies problem is due to the lack of responsiveness of the forum software - nothing happens so you assume you did not press the save button. We had the same issue with the old forum. I now wait a while before hitting the save button again. Even then I still occasionally end up with duplicate post.

@Derpy "I see no technical reason why you can't use True Image in a business environment. It "would" work great! "
You are probably correct but the product wasn't intended for that particular market and its requirements - for Home Office type users, yes but Acronis provide other business products which are better suited for larger business environments.
One key aspect of this topic which you introduced is regard to the legality of using your personal Acronis licensed software in your work environment, which Gaidar gave an official Acronis response to. The other side of this question is to ask what your work manager would say about using such a personal license in their business environment, and any issues that could arise if this was deemed to be in breach of the EULA for that software - what exposure it would put your employer at risk of in terms of financial penalties etc?
Most businesses have a budget for purchasing required software products needed to support their business and will want to be seen to be fully compliant with all license requirements of the same.

I have finally installed Acronis Backup 12.5 and it is a bit overwhelming. Definitely for Pros.
What can 12.5 Workstation do what ATIH does not?
I think it has REFS support, Bitlocker support (not tested yet but would be a need in a office enviroment), I also think it has storage spaces support. Is this correct Gaidar?
What I can say none of the features are supported in ATIH 2018 or earlier, so from this point of view you will see shortcoming to use it in business enviroments. At least the bitlocker encryption is a must have for laptops in businesses. ATIH cannot deal with it.

Yeah, I think it's a bit overwhelming for some small business too - especially when IT support may be minimal or non-existent. Gaidar is taking feedback on it though so it's good information! Backup 12.5 does have advantages of remote managed backups to a greater extent than True Image dashboard. Bitlocker support is good too!
FYI, the MVP WinPE builder adds ISCIS and/or bitlocker support as well. New version for 2018 isn't too far down the road... compatibility is there and working, but Mustang is adding some more goodies to it too :)
