Boot CD very slow to find "New location"

Thread needs solution

Hi.
Info:
Desktop computerUSB3
1 SSD hardrive in tower and1 Extern harddrive ( with the image files)

I boot from Boot CD created in Acronis True Image 2018
Then I will restore a totally image, a backup of the same SSD drive from earlyer, and in the workflow press "Not selected : New location" it take 5-10  minuts before I can press "Next".

Why is Acronis True Image sow long time to locate the SSD hardrive ?

Steen, sorry but difficult to say why the Acronis Rescue Media CD would take a long time to get to a position that allows you to click on 'Next' to continue your restore action.

The Acronis program is loaded into your computer memory and should be reasonably quick from that point, so it may be the drivers being used on the media to support your USB 3.0 devices.

There are different types of Rescue Media which can be created by ATI 2018 depending on the mode selected in the Media Builder Tool.

See KB 60091: Acronis True Image 2018: how Simple bootable media creation mode works which describes how the media is created and which version will be created.

Steen,  please confirm that you have selected the backup .tib file that you want to restore, and that after you have selected the backup, then it takes a long time (5 minutes) until it brings up the SSD as the destination for the restore.  If that is the situation, the delay is not caused by ATI trying to find the SSD drive.  It is caused by ATI analyzing the .tib backup.  If the backup contains a full backup and several incrementals/differentials, then the analyzing can take even longer.  I restored a backup that had 40+ incrementals, and it took over 30 minutes to analyze, before the destination drive (next) became available.

Hope this answers your question.

Ditto FtrPilot here, tib analyzing can be very slow depending on all hardware involved and the total number of files involved increases this exponentially.
