BSOD when using Media Builder

Thread needs solution

Just upgraded to 2018 Version and wanted to create a USB Rescue Media. As soon as I click on finish in the Rescue Media Builder the computer crashes and I get a BSOD and than a reboot. Not very useful for a Desaster Recovery Program, or? BTW I formated the stick as described on the Acronis web page. The stick was working fine with the 2017 Version. So what can I do?

Udo, welcome to these User Forums.

I am not aware of any general problems that give rise to any BSOD when using ATI 2018 or the Rescue Media Builder tool, so the initial advice is to ask you to please open a Support Case directly with Acronis for this problem, as this is something that they should investigate in depth.

You can also use the Feedback tool within the ATI GUI to report this issue and include an Acronis System Report which will be needed by Support - reference this forum Topic in your feedback too.

I would recommend considering doing a Clean install of ATI 2018 which should fully resolve this problem, but use the new option in 2018 to Backup your task settings, so that you can restore these later and save time configuring your backup tasks. The option is shown on the main Settings page in the GUI (icon = a gear cog), and then is at the bottom of the settings page, shown as 'Backup settings transfer' with 2 buttons below, one to Import settings, the second to Save settings to file...

See forum topic: [How to] uninstall a previous installation for how to start the clean install - download the full ATI 2018 installer from your Acronis account to use after following the steps.
