Cloud subscription expired, but cannot delete cloud backup task
I have a perpetual license for True Image 2018, and decided to give Acronis' cloud storage a try during their free trial period. I subsequently decided not to continue with a paid subscription, but now I'm stuck with a backup task that fires off on a regular basis and sends me a bunch of email alerts each time because it can't access the target cloud storage, but I can't remove it because the option to Delete is grayed out because my subscription has expired. Catch-22, anyone?
Any suggestions how I can get rid of this defunct backup plan without having to buy and cancel a subscription?

Jon, you can manually remove Cloud backup tasks by opening Explorer and navigate to C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\OnlineBackup then delete the files / folders that you find there.
Note: Best to have the main ATI GUI closed when doing the above so that the task list refreshes when it is opened later.
I would also suggest downloading the Acronis Scheduler Manager (link in my signature) and running this as Administrator then issue the command 'task zap' to clear out all scheduled tasks. This will remove any schedules for your Cloud tasks along with any other scheduled tasks you have. The latter can be reset by changing the schedule in the ATI GUI for any that need to be reinstated.

Open a chat with support and ask them to delete. Alternatively send a PM to forum moderator Ekaterina Surkova. I believe that after 30 days, it will go away on it's own, but yeah, can see how that would be annoying until then if you can't stop the task from trying to run without having access to modify it anymore.
Alternatively, have you tried logging into the Cloud website and deleting it there, or is that a no go not that the trial is over too?
Unfortunately it's been well over 30 days now and the task continues to run (and fail) on schedule. I'm pretty sure the actual cloud data is long since gone (and it was encrypted anyway, so I'm not that worried if it's still out there), but the front-end task remains.
Thanks for the suggestion re the web interface, but it just keeps on giving me a "Connection to the back-end service is lost' Click OK to log in again" error, which I suspect means it ain't gonna work without an active subscription.

Thanks, Steve.
I removed the contents of that directory (had to temporarily disable Acronis Active Protection to do so, btw), zapped my scheduled tasks, and rescheduled my local backups as they were. The cloud backup task now shows "Not scheduled", so hopefully that will be the last of the annoying emails, but it would still be nice to get rid of the remaining vestiges of that task from the GUI. Any suggestions how I can fully exorcise this ghost?
Thanks,
Jon.

Jon, open C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts where you will see files with .TIB.TIS extension - these are XML text files that can be opened in Notepad.
Check each of these and look for the name of your Cloud task near the top of the text - when you find the file(s) for your Cloud task, delete or move the file(s). AAP will need to be stopped to allow the delete or move, and the ATI GUI should be closed.

I found and deleted the corresponding script, but even after restarting all the Acronis services that task still shows up in my list. Perhaps it'll go away after my next reboot, but I'm not rushing to reboot my PC just for that.
Thanks - I'll update here after I do eventually reboot.

Jon, a restart / reboot is probably the next logical step to take.

Well, the phantom task is still there after a reboot. I've double-checked that none of the remaining scripts pertain to that task, and there's nothing in the OnlineBackup directory, so I'm open to other suggestions. At least it's not scheduled any more, so it's really just a cosmetic issue, but it would be nice to be rid of it.

Jon, the only other suggestions at this point are to either wait till more than 30 days after your Cloud trial expired when any data stored in the Cloud is permanently deleted, or else to open a Support Case with Acronis Support for this issue.
