Editing CFG files by hand

Thread needs solution

No, I am not crazy !

I simply want to edit the appropriate .CFG file to add/subtract folders from the the ExcludeMasks list using a Notepad.  ATI 2018 will export your .CFG files into a .ZIP but I have a couple of problems.

  1. The ExcludeMasks list appear in 3 different .CFG files: backupimage, backupfile and backup mail. The list in backupimage is different/longer !
  2. Windows ZIP file "manager" does not allow me to edit the files or replace them !  (7Zip does)

  • Which ExcludeMasks list should I edit to add/subtract folders from the list ?
  • Is there anything else I need to modify for these change to work properly when I import the modified files in the .ZIP folder ?

Jack, welcome to these User Forums.

Sorry but I have never needed to manually edit any of the CFG files and in all honesty, it is a lot easier simply to edit the Exclusions within the ATI GUI on the configuration page provided for that purpose where you only have the one place to manage any changes.
