How to create AAP "white lists"?

Thread needs solution

I am confused about the AAP exclusion list.  I want to format a USB-attached drive using the utility RMPrepUSB without turning AAP off.  Do I put the target drive for be formatted or the library containing RMPrepUSB in the exclusion list?  Neither seems appropriate.

  • There are a lot of executables in the RMPrepUSB library.  I don't know if I want to make all of them exempt from AAP scrutiny.
  • I could plug many devices in to a USB port on my computer.  I want to exempt this one drive for the duration of a format;  I do not want to exempt any drive that might be plugged into the port.

I think I must have missed something obvious here.

Patrick, not perhaps the answer you are seeking but I tend to turn off AAP temporarily when using this type of utility to format USB drives so as to avoid AAP from preventing the drive being made bootable etc.

Thanks Steve.  That's what I've been doing.  If it's good enough for you, I guess it's good enough for me.
