How to rescan for all backup files.
I just did a fresh install of Windows 10. Followed by an install of Acronis True Image 2018. Then I rearranged all my drive letters. And finally, I plugged in my external 4GB Seagate drive.
The problem is Acronis cannot find any of my *.tib (backup) files. I can find them all with explorer, but Acronis can't seem to locate the files.
How do I get Acronis to find all the *.tib files scattered accross several hard drives?
I googled for Acronis and rescan but did not find and answer.
Thank you.

Hi Steve, I was able to find a solution. There is a file or key I delete the will force Acronis to re-scan for all the tib files. Usually, when I find a solution to my question, I will post the answer for the next person to find. The next person is usually me. ARGH!
Do you know how to force Acronis to re-scan for all the tib files? I cannot remember the solution, of course.
And thank you for taking the time to answer my question.

Julian, the only method that I am aware of that causes ATI to search for backup .tib files and add them to the ATI GUI list of tasks, is when the application is installed. I am not aware of any switch to force a rescan / search for such files - there was something in the older versions prior to around 2014 but this was removed.
Take a read of the following topics which are in the same / similar area:

One word of caution, be careful if you are looking to add any existing backup files to the GUI that have the same name as any existing tasks. This can be a real cause for confusion at best and corruption at worse. Ideally every backup task should have a unique name to avoid issues.
