Is it possible to clone only Windows and some other applications, if source disk is bigger than destination disk??

Hello,

I just recently bought a Kingston M.2 240GB ssd. With it, came a product activation key for Acronis True Image OEM 2018. So since I would like to transfer my Windows and some games from my hdd to my ssd, I downloaded Acronis True Image OEM.

But I have two problems. The first one is that I can't transfer all the data from my hdd to my ssd, because my hdd contains around 600GB of data. The second one is that I don't know how to transfer only my windows and some other applications to my ssd using Acronis True Image OEM.

Is it possible to do this kind of a clone? Should I do it using the automatic or manual clone mode?

I have already run chkdsk in my command prompt and it came back with no problems found.

Also, if my old hdd is using MBR, should I pick MBR or GPT for my new ssd (I plan to use it as my boot drive and have some games/applications installed on it.).

I have Windows 8.1 pro, Intel Core i5 @ 3.50GHz, 16GB of ram, MAXIMUS VII RANGER motherboard, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (MSI), 931GB Seagate ST1000DM003-1CH162 (HDD).

Don't know if you need my specs, but just in case.

Just a heads up, I am not very good with computers, so sorry if I sound confused.

Thanks in advance, aa2x

Please see KB 19296: Acronis products cannot be used to transfer applications to different system or upgrade OS - which applies to your question about "how to transfer only my windows and some other applications to my ssd using Acronis True Image OEM".  Basically, no! it cannot be done - a clone has to be 'All or nothing'!
