List of Backups
In my list of Backups, I have a section labeled "Others" These recently appeared; can you tell me what they are and can I delete them?
Thank you!

I have option to "Open Location"
Also, option to "Search File"
So..are they failed attempts at backups OR backups discarded by the program related to my settings??
Although all labeled backups are now functioning, I recently had a couple drives fail to backup....
You can tell...I am new to this program!

I have a feeling they found these older backups from a removable drive (just a guess). If they are old backups that you don't recognize or that are not connected to the machine all the time, remove them without deleting. That will just remove them from the console view.
If you do need to recover from these backups, and they do exist on a physical drive (internal, external, etc.), use your offline bootable recovery media and just navigate to them from there.
I never liked that True Image automatically adds old backups that it finds because of this confusion and that it clutters up the console with names I have no intention of ever using. I do hope that this behavior will be removed in newer versions not too far down the road as I keep asking for it :)

All these added backups are names of files associated with the configured backups. And all the configured backups go to different drives. If those drives (ie, Q:, L:, P:, O:, M:, K:) are removable, perhaps they were accessible under different drive letters at some time. I'm not sure what it means that they show up on ".\".
Anyway, you can remove the backup entry without deleting the files (which probably would not be found anyway).

HOW do you remove backup entry without deleting the files?
OP indicated she could "Open Location" and "Search File."
I'm presented with "Rename," "Search Files" and "Delete" (none of which actually do anything when selected from my backup list).
Instruction on how to "Remove" would be most appreciated!

The process is counter-intuitive. In ATI select the backup task (the unknown backup), click on the inverted V character to the right, which brings up available action, {counter intuitive part} select "delete" and you will then be given the option of delete or remove, select remove.
Hope this make it clear(er)

Thank you so much for your clarification, @IanL-S!
I discovered same after reading other postings. Unfortunately, this "Delete"->"Remove" trick doesn't solve the problem that currently vexes me: I've clicked "Add Backup" a couple of times and then abandoned the new backup configurations, as I didn't really want to make new backups.
Nevertheless, Acronis TIH 2017 will not let me remove these bogus "backups" (these are names of backups, only -- I've run no backups and there are not .TIB's for them, anywhere). Worse: Acronis TIH 2017's GUI keeps "discovering" and adding these new bogus backup entries to the backup list, dynamically -- continually re-arranging the list to accommodate them. I can neither remove these non-backups from my list, nor select the backups upon which I want to perform operations, because the list keeps moving.
Any tips?

There is something very strange about the location given for these backups. Not sure what to make of ".\". Hopefully someone may be able to help. Unexpected characters in folder name can result in a folder that cannot be deleted. I have a dim recollection that when using Linux a folder name starting with a space does that. You also cannot do anything with the folder.

IlDavo, for the problem backup tasks shown in the GUI, try the following:
In Explorer, navigate to C:\Program Data\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Scripts.
Open each .tis.tib file you see there, one by one, using Notepad and look at the XML text shown.
Identify any file showing the task name for your problem tasks within <display>name</display> brackets.
Move or delete these .tib.tib files for the problem tasks only.
Note: I would recommend Turning off Acronis Active Protection before attempting the last step as will try to protect these files from being moved or deleted!
