Manually 1 full and 5 incremental backups

A customer of ours is used to Acronis 2017. There he made manual backups by pressing the backup button. After 5 times making an incremental backup automatically the program made 1 full back-up after pressing the button and starts again with 5 incremental backups.

In Acronis 2018 the backup program always makes a full backup after pressing the button. (although the settings are 5 incremental and 1 full)

Is there a way to get the same functionality like 2017? (5 incremental and afterwards 1 full backup)

Thx for help.

OS: Windows 10
Program: Acronis 2018

Lorenzo, welcome to these User Forums.

The same functionality should be available to your customer using ATI 2018 as with 2017 but they may need to use the Options button for the Backup task and set the Backup Scheme configuration exactly as needed, then use the further button provided to 'Set as default'.

See the screen shot below showing an example from my own computer after clicking on Options then on the Backup scheme page to see these settings.  Click on OK when done to save any changes.

Hi steve and thank you for your answer. This method does indeed work with automatic backup. But with the manual backup (by clicking the button) this would not work according to my client. Then the program would always make a full backup (according to my client)

Lorenzo, there should be no difference between running a backup task by schedule or by doing a manual run of the same task (clicking on the Back up now button).  The only issue that can arise is that if you are intending to run your backups on specific days, then doing an extra backup manually can upset that schedule unless you also use the option to restrict backups to just once per day.
