Not more used folders appear again and again (deleted backup's)

Thread needs solution

Hi Steve,

as you remember me, we did several trials here.

Now, after I ended up with a re-installation, I deleted some folders and backup's on my external drive.
But every time I do a new Backup, the old folders appear again and agian...

What can be the reason for?
Has ATI saved the structure somewhere?

Can this be, that I have some "other" backups listed, which are physically not on the drive anymore, this folders will be written again?

Manfred, how did you delete the folders and backups on your external drive?  If this was using such as File Explorer outside of the main ATI GUI (automatic cleanup) rules, then this leaves information behind in the internal Acronis database which can cause ATI to recreate delete folders when looking for deleted files.

The choices here are to either run a Validation for each task in the GUI where you have deleted files or folders associated with the task, or to use the 'Clone settings' option for such tasks, then remove the original task from the GUI (which will purge the information from the database for that task), then rename the cloned task and start off with a fresh new backup chain using a different target folder to the removed task.
