Ransomware Feature
I purchased TI18 in November 2017, I actually wanted to purchase TI17 because it did not contain the ransomware feature.
However, at that time I was told that Acronis were no longer selling licenses for TI17!
Seriously? So I was effectively FORCED to purchase TI18, which had the ransomware feature.
This PC is used for general home computing, no business/company applications or business networks. To put it frankly, regardless of what Acronis *think* I need....I do not need or want my backup software bloated with this ransomware feature and eavesdropping on my internet connection and files access/usage. Yet it was forced upon the user in the product package.
Nor will I use 'The Cloud' to store any of my personal data, no matter how 'safe' they tell me it is.
As far as I'm concerned, for me and home computing, this feature is just 'marketing BS' used to sell the latest product. In 2017 I couldn't purchase TI17...crazy.
Anyway, I have completely disabled this feature permanently (hopefully) but my point being I personally don't want it or need it. Acronis should offer two versions, one with ransomware for those who want it and one for those who don't, or offer it as an optional add-on feature.
It's like Microsoft forcing huge W10 OS update files on too you with no options for choosing what components you want to update, maybe this is ok for some people, but assuming everyone is computer illiterate is too much. I just updated W10 version to the latest (Ver 1607 to 1803), almost 6GB and 6 hours later it finally finished...seriously...W7 update feature was more suited for users like myself.
It seems all tech companies are going the same way and treating all citizens as stupid and using the marketing ploy of 'we will look after you' just click and forget....yeah right...is the WWW actually safer to use now because Acronis bloat data backup software with this ransomware and Microsoft force huge update file packages on users?
I notice that TI18 logs my software usage data and sends it to Acronis servers as soon as I am connected to the internet.
Our privacy in all aspects of life is being eroded. Big corporate, big government...watching, listening and controlling.
Food for thought.

On the matter of encryption I am in full agreement with Steve. I encrypt all backups, not just those to Acronis Cloud.
