Resize during restore

Thread needs solution

Sorry to post such a basic question, but the documentation appears to speak only to resizing when restoring an individual partition. Is there a way to restore a full disk to a larger drive an apportion the space across the partitions being restored, or do I need to restore partitions individually in order to achieve this?

Philip, it should be possible to do this but from the limited testing that I have done in this area recently, it does look to be a little hit and miss as to whether it works automatically or not!

There are definitely options provided when you select individual partitions during the recovery dialogue where you can resize manually, and recovering from a larger to smaller drive seems to do the automatic resizing, but not always the other way round.

Personally, this hasn't been a big issue for me as I have accepted the recovery result then used one of the various free Partition tools to move and resize as needed.  MiniTool Partition Wizard gets good reviews here by myself and others.

Thanks - MinTool sounds like a good way to get around this. I haven't been seeing the option to resize, but it sounds like I need to select all partitions separately vs. just selecting the disk as a whole.

As is invariably the case, I am in full agreement with Steve on this. MiniTool is very good for the task. That is how I do it these days.
