Schedued Backups not working - Win 10 Home (v1803) using TI2018 (v12510) - Does not start BU, shows QUEUED

Thread needs solution

I have 4 computers: 2 office PC running Win 10 Pro v1803 and two laptops, one Win 10 Pro v1803 and the other Win 10 Home French (v1803).  The three computers running Win 10 Pro and working exactly as advertised!!!

However, the Win 10 Home laptop is not working period!  All four are configured the same, each using a external 4 GB drive configured to be the "Q" drive.  The options are shown in the two attached jpg's.

What I see if I open TI2018 is that a backup is "QUEUED", but not running and that status will not change even if I leave it running over night.  If I "STOP" it and then click "BACKUP" I get the "QUEUED" status again.  If I "STOP" the "QUEUED" status and reboot, it will now show the next backup as tomorrow and I can then sometimes click on "BACKUP" and it will start a backup.

I have used the "schedmgr.exe" app to look at the tasks.  There is always only one task showing.

 inst=den start=yes loc task=0-0 > get list
 Id ExecApp ExecCmd
--- ---------------
CurUser 3 (xxxxx\yyyy):
  3-1  ~*TrueImageHomeNotify* /dummy /script:"343EFEFB-265E-447D-B81C-8B3B7D71C5E7" /uuid:"343EFEFB-265E-447D-B81C-8B3B7D71C5E7" /run_mode:?RunMode?
inst=den start=yes loc task=0-0 >

If I delete it and return to TI2018 it no longer tries to schedule a BU and I have to go into the OPTIONS to get a BU scheduled and started.

The output from the "schedmgr.exe" is different from what I see on a Win 10 Pro PC:

inst=den start=yes loc task=0-0 > get list
 Id ExecApp ExecCmd
--- ---------------
CurUser 1 (AAAAAA\BBBBBB):
  1-1   C:\Program Files\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageMonitor.exe /shutup
inst=den start=yes loc task=0-0 >

and on my Win 10 Pro laptop:

inst=den start=yes loc task=0-0 > get list
 Id ExecApp ExecCmd
--- ---------------
CurUser 3 (CCCCCCC\DDDDDDD):
  3-19 ~*TrueImageHomeNotify* /dummy /script:"4665B2A8-F928-47DE-9B61-486E05F9D2EB" /uuid:"4665B2A8-F928-47DE-9B61-486E05F9D2EB" /run_mode:?RunMode?

  3-31  C:\Program Files (x86)\Acronis\TrueImageHome\TrueImageMonitor.exe /shutup
inst=den start=yes loc task=0-0 >

Repeating, for both the Win 10 Pro PC and the Win 10 Pro laptop scheduled backups are working fine.

What is the problem?.....RDK

RDK, do any logs get created on this problem Win10 Home computer?

The MVP Log Viewer tool will default to showing any ti_demon logs.  These in turn may offer some more detail about what is happening here?

Queued normally means what it says, that another task is active therefore this one has to wait in the queue for a turn to run.

As usual when I try to look a system logs I find they are written for folks that already know what they are doing and not for the simple user like me.  Thus I learned very little from looking at them!

However, I seem to have figured out the issue with the misbehaving Windows 1o Home laptop.  As I said above I have 4 Windows 10 computers, 3 running Windows 10 Pro and the above Windows 10 home.  All were configure a shown in the attachments to my original note.  When I unchecked the "Run when the current destination device is attached", then it started running normally, no queue situations and no needed manual starts.

The other three computers still have that option checked and are running as expected.....RDK
