Windows mount point support

Thread needs solution

Looks like True Image doesn't support windows mount points. Is that correct or am I just missing an option somewhere? When browsing via the backup source explorer (or whatever it's called) the mount point just shows up as a file.

Nick, you are correct that ATI does not follow mount points or symbolic links when you make a backup of a drive that includes these.

For example:  I store all my Documents, Photos, Music etc on a different drive to my OS drive, and have changed the location for these items from Explorer using the Properties >> Location option.

When I backup my OS drive, I only want it to include data that is physically present on that drive, not to pick up extra gigabytes of data from my second, much larger HDD where the mapped data is stored.  This is how ATI works and has always worked for as long as I can remember,

How do I backup the data of a drive that does not have a drive letter associated with it? It is only a NTFS mount point.

Vee, you should be able to make a Disks & Partitions backup of the drive with no drive letter - when selecting the Source ensure that you click on the link for 'full partition list' which then shows any hidden / system partitions such as the Windows Recovery and EFI System partitions.

Note: this is only possible with the above type of backup, you cannot do this with a Files & Folders backup as there must be a drive letter to allow selection for the source data.
