Acronis fails to backup when reconnected after the computer is disconnected

My backups are scheduled to start every week. I removed the computer from my USB dock when I traveled. I expected the backup to start as soon as I reconnected but Acronis said the backup had failed while my computer was disconnected but it didn't start a new backup. Instead it saied the next backup would start a week later.

To be more clear ... when the computer was disconnected, Acronis said the backup had failed.

Eddy,

You would need to post the configuration options you have set for the backup task for anyone here to give advice on the situation you have.  Default scheduled backup tasks are weekly on the day and time that the task was originally configured.

If you miss that scheduled day and time for the backup to run then the behavior that you describe would be expected, the backup would run again a week later.

As my understanding if you miss a backup it will start again when you turn on you computer again. See the option that says "Run missed operations at system startup" ... that is checked and set to 0.

I realize that I didn't actually turn on the computer ... I just brought it out of sleep. Could that explain it?

Bringing your computer out of a sleep state is different than system startup.  This may in fact cause your issue.  You should test that out and post back your results.

I ran a test. First I wanted to verify that it fails if the computer is not re-booted. But it didn't fail this time. So there is something else going on. The only thing I can think of is that I had disconnected the computer for about 2 weeks before.

I believe that would do it yes.
