Acronis lost my initial backup.

I need to restore my partition for C. I have a backup made as:

 EDDYS-XPS_inc_b1_s2_v1.tib
 EDDYS-XPS_inc_b1_s3_v1.tib
 EDDYS-XPS_inc_b1_s4_v1.tib

When I try to restore I get the message "Cannot find 1".

I assume that means it can't find EDDYS-XPS_inc_b1_s1_v1.tib. If that is so then what the heck happened to it? I sure didn't delete it! Is there any way I can get it back?

I think  I know what happened ... when I bought Acronis I bought the cloud version by mistake. So Acronis gave me a refund and I bought the single PC version. I wonder if that caused s1 to be deleted? But s1 was on a local disk so how could they have deleted it?

Eddy, the missing file is EDDYS-XPS_full_b1_s1_v1.tib which is the initial full backup file for your incremental version chain, without which the chain is of no use!

No idea how that full backup file would have been deleted but changing from a Cloud subscription version to Perpetual shouldn't have caused this.

I have it set to backup every day at 7:00AM. Last night I created a new backup and after that was finished I disconnected the drive (USB) so it missed the backup this morning. This morning I connected the drive but now I get the message "The specified file does not exist". But it does exist using File Explorer (clicked on Open location). I have a check mark on "Run missed operations when an external device is connected". If I "Back up Now", it works.

What is the expected action under these conditions?

Eddy, we would need to see the log files to try to understand what is happening here.  Initially, it sounded like the backup drive may have been given a different drive letter, but that should be unlikely if Backup Now works to the same drive using the same task.  It could also be a matter of timing, that the drive wasn't fully ready when the task tried to find the required file?

You should probably set a delay time for your "Run missed operations when an external device is connected" if you are offered the option to do so?
