Any reason to upgrade to 2019?

Thread needs solution

I am on Acronis 2016 and have used Acronis various versions since around 2005.  When I got Acronis 2016 I was on Windows 7 Ultimate.  Now have upgraded the same PC to Windows 10 Pro.  The only function I use is doing a full image twice a week on an external drive, then unplug the drive.  Currently the Acronis 2016 is working fine in Win 10 Pro.  Actually did a complete restore of an image yesterday, I sometimes like to experiment and screw things up.  That is why I do 2 images a week.

Anyway, I like Acronis 2016 okay, don't know why they took out a log, but downloaded a log viewer from this site.  Bit of a pain to set up new jobs and learning new interface, plus any quirks.  I have no intentions of ever using the cloud for storing data.

I don't really see a need to upgrade, but maybe I should, it is not a cost issue, just do I want to take the time to do it?   I spent almost 40 years as a system software programmers on mainframes before retiring in 2004 and getting lazy and grumpy when it comes to computers.

If I do upgrade I rather do it before 2020 comes out, always use to call the leading edge technology, the bleeding edge.  Figure 2019 has bugs worked out by now.

The recovery media options are better in ATI 2019. Unfortunately there are still a few bugs in the latest build of ATI 2019 which may not be fixed before the release of ATI 2020.

The best strategy is to purchase ATI 2019 a few weeks before ATI 2020 is release, as Acronis usually allows a 'free' upgrade for those who purchase a now superseded version. The thing is to get the timing right!

Thanks, that is a good point.  Back around 2005 -2006 I use to test their beta versions and would find problems then get the software free.

Yes, a number of beta testers still get free licence. If you want to do some beta testing send a PM to Ekaterina.
