Authentication settings - strange hicup
I keep my TIB files on a hard drive on another computer which is network attached. This works fine except for some reason I've never understood, ATI2019 always asks for my credentials to access files on that networked computer (all users have admin privileges). No big deal; I put in an admin username and password and I get connected.
Now this has changed in a strange way. I had to fully restore this Win10P system due a system hard drive crash. This worked fine; however, now when I attempt to access those TIB files, and the authentication settings screen comes up in ATI as before, both the username and the password fields are pre-filled-in. The username is correct, but the password is just an endless series of dots (it is disguising the actual characters of course). At first I simply deleted the apparently dozens of characters in the password field, and once the field was blank, I entered the proper password, and all was well. But now that string of dots seems endless. No matter how many of these pre-loaded dots (characters) I delete, I never get to the end of the string. As a consequence, I can no longer connect to this networked computer inside of ATI. Note I can connect to this networked computer just fine using File Explorer.

Thanks Steve. I have no doubt you are correct that the ATI credentials section in the registry was corrupt.
As it happens, late last night, I got a sudden idea that solved the problem, and of which I should have thought about earlier. Whatever that string was in the ATI credentials section in the registry, it was long. Too long to delete one character at a time (I tried the delete key for minutes). Then it occurred to me that maybe I could select the entire string, regardless of its length, by using the shift+ end keys, then deleting the entire string at once. This worked.
I'm very glad to have the URL to this KB article since knowing the ATI credentials registry location will be useful in the future.
