Backup Destination - Changing

Thread needs solution

I have many PCs on our corporate network using Acronis TI. They backup to an external hard drive to connected to a server, and the backup destination is a UNC path - //server/drive. I'd like to relocate that external hard drive to another server, but that'll require me to go into each of the PCs and change the destination path. Is there any way to simplify this change? I was hoping I could use a shared drive name and slowly make changes to each machine before the move, but even that work work. Apparently Acronis TI doesn't allow shared names. Any ideas?

Joel, I would recommend investing in an additional external hard drive as the easiest method of managing the change, connecting the new drive to the other server then working your way around the different PCs to select the new destination on each in turn, while allowing others to continue using the original drive, then once all are changed over, you can remove the old drive or repurpose it.

Well, I guess that's one approach. The drive I have now is an 8 TB one, and I don't necessarily have a use for a 2nd one. Maybe I'll just do it on a weekend and spend the 2 hours it would likely take to change all of the PCs. All I'm really gaining is splitting the time I need into small segments with this approach (which was a good thought), and if the only way to do this is brute force I guess I'd just as soon get it over with in one full swoop. I just wanted to be sure that changing the backup destination in each TI copy is the only real way of making the change, and it seems to be the case.

Unfortunately management of numerous PCs is not easy in ATI 2019 (or any version as far as I am aware), those features are more likely to be found in Acronis business grade products. ATI is classified as a "Personal" rather than a "Business" product.

I really cannot add anything more to the earlier suggestions.
