The only thing I see in the log is the following:

2019-07-23T04:22:15:242-04:00 4510856640 E02AA0201: Error 0x2aa0201: Cannot copy files from '/' to '/Volumes/Macintosh HD 1'. Check source drive for errors, check connectivity with destination drive.

When you are attempting to clone, make sure the VM is fully shutdown and not paused or in the background

Also, are you using rescue media to clone?  If not, I would attempt that.

If cloning continues to fail, the next option to try would be to take a full disk backup image (again, make sure the VM is fully powered down first). Save it to some other location (like another external USB hard drive) and then restore the image to the desired hard drive.

Cloning has a few more limitations than backup and restore... plus, before doing a clone, it is recommended to take a full disk backup first (just in case) so you should already be 1/2 way done with the backup and restore at that point.
