Error while checking the metadata integrity of points in time (PITs) in the archive.
Hi all,
I ran the backup for the first time and got this error message: "Error while checking the metadata integrity of points in time (PITs) in the archive."
I checked backup file and the process seemed to be successful but a separate validation said it was corrupted. And also the automatic clean up feature doesn't work.
Appreciate your help.
Best regards,
Jake

Jake, thanks for the log files. These show 2 successful backups to your network location but the third log shows the error when attempting to validate the network based archive file.

I suspect that this is an issue triggered by the remote location of the archive file being validated.
If you try validating any local / external Acronis backups, I would expect that this error would not be shown.
The validation task has to read the archive file contents into the computer memory in order to recalculate the checksum information for the archive and compare this with the embedded checksum value. Doing this across the network can contribute to issues with validation and also with mounting archives etc.
If this is a concern, then I would recommend opening a Support Case directly with Acronis and let them review this topic, plus collect more specific diagnostic data for investigation. This will most likely include needing to capture a Wireshark trace of the validation process to see the exchange of network protocols and data.
