Full backup system, software & drivers

Thread needs solution

Hello,

I'm using true image 2019.

To be honest, I've read the Manual about differential, incremental backups but I'm lost.

The only thing I want is this :

I want to make a full backup of the whole system, drivers and programs in case of a computer crash.

What backup plan do I have to choose if I want just one full backup?

My idea is to make a backup and after a next windows update I will delete that backup to make a full new one.

What settings are necessary?

David, welcome to these public User Forums.

Every backup that you create when selecting either 'Entire PC' or click through the Source panel and select 'Disks & Partitions' will create a full backup of the selected disk drive(s) that includes the whole content of the drive(s), so the OS, all installed applications and all user data stored on the same.

I would recommend using one of the provided backup schemes rather than just making one backup!  The reason why I recommend this is that computers are constantly changing, Microsoft is regularly pushing out updates for Windows 10, plus your user data is changing on a daily basis etc.

If you only make a single full backup today, then you hit an issue when doing a new Windows Update in say 3 to 6 months time, your backup would not contain any of the changes on your PC in the period between, and if you need to use the Recovery options because the PC fails to boot after a failed update, then all that changed data is lost.

You should also create and test the Acronis Rescue Media long before you might ever need to use this to recover your PC from any future crash or disk drive failure!
