How to change bandwidth usage of active cloud backup in Windows app?
Hi all. I'm trying to change the bandwidth usage of a cloud backup I've had set up and steadily running for a while now. However I can't access the Options for this backup task. On my other backup task, to an external drive, which I've completed and updated several times now, there is an Options button on the bottom right next to Back Up Now. But on my cloud backup task, it's always either running, paused or suspended, and in none of those states is an Options button available (nor are Options available by right clicking the task in the task list). Will Options become available once it has completed? Am I deliberately not allowed to change options on a cloud backup for some reason? What's going on?

So my cloud backup finally completed. And I still don't have access to options... Neither while its paused nor when suspended.

Simon, if you are not seeing an Options button for your Cloud backup task then there is no way to change these settings.

Well it's definitely completed. And now updated several times over. I guess I'll raise it with support as a possible bug

For the benefit of anyone who may find this looking for an answer: support eventually realised that it's because it's a continuous backup. Only scheduled backups can be altered.

Thanks for the update Simon, I do not use any continuous backup tasks so wasn't aware of that limitation. It begs the question as to whether you can change this to be unscheduled and then make the changes for bandwidth?

Sadly no, I'd have to create a new (scheduled) backup task and start backing up again from scratch. Can't be arsed with that so will just soldier on with the full bandwidth usage. Not too bad now that it's just the odd update to the backup every so often.

This is interesting; one surprising thing is that I noticed at the bottom of the screenshot that it was a nonstop backup task.
In my experience I have not had bandwidth issues (impact on downloads), which may be dependant on the type of internet connection - I have cable internet. I suspect it could depend on the download and upload constraints. I sarted with 100/2 Mbps then moved to 100/5 and now has 80/35 Mbps (peak period). I can now have backups to cloud going for 3 of 4 PCs at the same time without impact on other downloads. This may have something to do with the QOS settings in my Router.
