Purchased 2019 upgrade last month. Got a popup today that a new version was available. They want me to pay $29.99

Thread needs solution

I think that the 30-day free upgrade policy is despicable, especially when the software seems to wait until after my 30 days had expired to inform me of the new version release.

TALK ABOUT RANSOMEWARE! BAH!

I have been an Acronis user for as long as I can remember. However, I don't think I am being treated fairly.

I cannot even speak to anyone. They hide behind a chat service that is probably based on the other side of the planet.

DESPICABLE, USELESS SUPPORT!

Gary, not sure what the forum users can say here.  Acronis has always had a 30-day upgrade policy for stand-a-lone (standard) licenses.

It stinks if you're just outside the Window and recently bought 2019, but if you're within a couple days (like really close), you might try shooting a PM to forum moderator Ekaterina to see if there is anything they can do in this case.

FYI, the major software versions usually comes out in late August, but you never know exactly when.  Upgrade deals usually come along a few times a year too and even the "free" versions of the OEM software that comes with hard drives, is usually able to upgrade for a reduced cost.

Otherwise, if you want to maintain all major version upgrades, you can go with an subscription instead.  If you buy new versions annually, this would be the way to go.
