Restore image not working

Thread needs solution

Hello, I searched and could not find a solution to my problem. I am trying to restore a back up (not a clone) but it fails after the pc reboots. It appears that the hd is not visible after it reboots to Acronis environment. It gets to a point where it says "preparing" but nothing else happens and eventually it errors out saying the back up could not be found or is corrupted. I am able to verify the back up file through Acronis in the windows environment so it's looking like the hd is no longer visible after the reboot. The mouse pointer also does not work so I have to navigate using tab and enter on the keyboard. Do you have any thoughts on how i can get the backup restored? This is a Lenovo Yoga 700 running windows 10 with a 33 gb back up file on a 1TB WD drive. Thanks.

Antonio, welcome to these public User Forums.

From your description, you look to be starting this OS restore from within Windows which will then reboot to a temporary Linux boot environment.  I suspect that the Linux OS used does not have support for your Lenovo Yoga 700 disk drive, especially if this is an NVMe type drive or is using RAID as the SATA controller mode.

I would recommend creating the Acronis Rescue Media using the Simple method if you are using ATI 2019, where this will create Windows PE type media based on your Windows 10 Recovery Environment and will have support for the hardware devices in your computer.

See the following reference documents.

KB 61632: Acronis True Image 2019: how to create bootable media - for details of the 3 different types of rescue media.  Default Simple mode uses Windows Recovery Environment, then Advanced mode offers the older Linux media or Windows PE (using the Windows ADK).
