Survival Kit - BSOD

Thread needs solution

Friday I have updated ATI to  version 14610.

Trying to update the Survival Kit I get a BSOD „Kernel trap mode“.

Already tried deleting Acronis partition, creating a new one, but always BSOD.

External drive is a Freecom HDD USB 3,

2TB.

With former builds of ATI 2019 there were no problems creating the Survival Kit partition or updating it.

PC Dell Alienware X51R2, Win 10 Pro 1809.

Uwe, I don't use the actual Survival Kit creation / update process as I have an older Legacy/MBR system and this would create the Survival Kit using the Linux rescue media, not the WinPE version.

What I have been able to do is create my own equivalent Survival Kit by simply creating a 2GB FAT32 partition on my external USB HDD and allocating a Windows drive letter (N:) to that partition.  After that, I can use either the normal Acronis Rescue Media Builder tool, or else use the MVP Custom ATIPE Builder script to create / update the bootable rescue partition.  I use the latter to get the extra features in the media (file manager, web browser, image snapshot etc).

Uwe,

Does this happen when you are attempting to update the Survival Kit drive itself, not the backup files on the drive?

I am trying to update the survivial kit itself.

In Acronis there is the message the Partition gets locked, files are copied. Reaching 100 % and than the System is crashing.

Making backups on the external drive is with no problems.

Hello Uwe,

Did you contact support on this? Please, do, it is important to investigate the issue.

And it would also help if you could send us logs via the Feedback form: https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATI2019/#38606.html

Uwe, feedback received, thank you!

Looking into it.
