Unable to deactivate

Thread needs solution

Have installed TI 2019 on a new computer. It is still installed & activated on my laptop. I want to deactivate it on my laptop. I can find no way to do this.

I've looked at at kb article on the Acronis site and when I try to go into my account dashboard, I see no options for deactivating. My account dashboard doesn't look anything like the one in the article. I'd link the article but when I try I get a message saying I can't put links in the text. Bloody fucking hell! How does shit like this make it to market?

How can I deactivate the installation on my laptop?

Useful thoughts appreciated.

Thank you.

Robert, if you have ATI 2019 installed on your new computer as well as your laptop and activated on both, then this suggests your license is for 2 or more PC's.

If your license was for only one PC then you would have been given an option to move the license from the laptop in order to activate ATI on the new PC.

There is no actual method to deactivate ATI other than by uninstalling and moving activation to a new PC.

See KB 61162: Acronis True Image 2019: "You've exceeded the maximum number of activations for this serial number"

That's the article I was trying to link and the forum software wouldn't allow it.

I can confirm I have a single-seat license. When you install on a new machine you have 30 days to deactivate on one.

As noted in my original message, the options shown in that article are not available to me in my Account.

Robert, does your new install show as a trial copy with the count down to days remaining?  If so, then you either need to enter your single license serial number or else sign in with your Acronis Account that the serial is registered to, which should then give you the options shown in the KB document.

Posting links in the initial post of a new topic is best delayed until after the topic is created then either add a further post or edit the original to add the link.  This is down to the quirks of how the forum works, and is the same for file attachments or embedded images etc.

Is the computer online / connected to the Internet? That would be needed to establish whether the serial has been activated more than once?
