USB Dongle not seen - how to enable?
I run some software which uses a USB hardware dongle. Feedback from the supplier (and testing by me on a different (non-Acronis) machine) suggests that the anti-virus software is stopping the software from seeing the dongle’s registration number and thus the software won’t run. The recommendation from the supplier is to put it (the software) on the “white list” so that the anti-virus doesn’t inhibit correct dongle registration. I have placed the executable on the exclusions list (I think) but the dongle registration still can't be seen.
Where should I look next to see what's stopping the registration from being seen?
NOTE: The dongle itself is seen and interacts with Windows as it should! The problem is that while the registration is not seen, the software only works in "Demo" mode and thus for a limited time before exiting.
TIA,
Paolo

Thanks, Steve, it is ATI 2091 build 17750 I'm using (on Windows 10).
I have tried to get the dongle to register with BOTH ATI Active Protection and the standard Windows 10 anti-virus software turned off. To no avail. So I guess I'll have to look elsewhere.
