Acronis 2020 - Previously Validated TIB backup files fail to validate again

Thread needs solution

I use Acronis True Image 2020 on several windows 10 PCs. I make weekly full backups of my OS drives to a NAS  device and these back ups includes validation steps. The validations are always successful, but if I try to validate a backup again manually with Acronis, it fails stating, as an example:

Failed to open backup Y:\Backups\PC\C-Drive\INTEL SSDSA2M160G2GC_full_b140_s1_v1.tib. Make sure the backup location is accessible and contains all versions of the backup.

However the same backup file I am trying to validate will open successfully in windows explorer and I can navigate to any files within it.

These are full single backup files written to an accessible NAS device, and I have successful restored from one of them in the past. Does anyone know why Acronis will not validate these tib files after it does a successful validation at creation please?

I have attached a photo of the error and a photo showing that I can navigate within one of these a backups using windows explorer.

Hello!

Please try the following:

  1. Repair Acronis Installation:

    • Try repairing the Acronis True Image installation. You can usually find this option in the program's settings or in the Control Panel under Programs and Features.
  2. Check NAS Connectivity:

    • Ensure that the NAS device is properly connected and accessible from your Windows 10 PCs. Test the connection by accessing other files on the NAS.
  3. Network Issues:

    • If the backup is stored on a network location, check for any network issues or interruptions during the validation process.
  4. Temporary Disable Antivirus/Firewall:

    • Temporarily disable your antivirus or firewall software and attempt the validation again. Sometimes, security software can interfere with certain operations.

Best regards.
