Acronis True Image 2020 disrupts Win10 file search index
I recently installed the latest Windows 10 on my pc with a new drive, and found that the win10 search index was working fine - showing "item indexed" count of 27,288 - and I was able to successfully search folders and subfolders for my files. However, after installing the latest Acronis True Image 2020, the win10 "item indexed" count was compromised. After the Acronis install, the Win10 "item indexed" count went down to 25,072, thereby missing many files. And my searches in folders are now NOT successful - many files are NOT shown.
The attached files shows one folder's actual pdf contents; another file shows the search returning no pdf files in that folder, and another file shows the reduced win10 "item indexed" count of 25,072 (happens after installing Acronis).

I'm not sure I understand what is being described. he files actually missing, or is this just a problem with indexing?
If you uninstall ATI does the problem go away, or has there been a permanent change?
There have been recent problems with Search introduced by some recent Windows maintenance. Doe you know for sure that your problem was caused by the ATI installation?

I re-analyzed my problem and found the solution and it was NOT the Acronis True Image 2020 as I originally thought. I think that I was mislead by focusing on the declining search index count.
The real issue was that a windows search for pdf files in a folder returned nothing on my recently installed windows 10, 64-bit, desktop (see specs below). The pdf folder search was working before I installed the the latest free Adobe "Acrobat Reader DC", version 20.006.20042. After installing that, the windows pdf file filter was changed to "PDF Professional Filter", but no pdf files were found after rebuilding the index, and then searching for pdf's in a known folder containing pdf files. I did find references to an iFilter 11 intended for older 64-bit windows systems. It's title is "Adobe PDF iFilter 11 for 64-bit platforms". I downloaded and installed it. It changed the windows pdf file filter to "PDF Filter". After rebuilding the index again, I can now search for pdf files in my folders. Problem solved... Sorry for any confusion...
my desktop: Microsoft Windows 10 Home, Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363
