Acronis Upgrade to True Image 2020 backup to 2nd swapped USB HDD fails

Thread needs solution

I have a PC that was running Windows 7 and True Image 2014. It was upgraded to Windows 10 and True Image 2020. They have 2 like USB hard drives which they swap weekly and a full backup to the attached drive is scheduled to run every Friday. This worked fine in IT 2014, and the new Friday job ran on the attached drive last Friday. Today, with the 2nd drive connected, the job failed. It appears to me from the error that the job failed because the hard drive with different. I'm guessing TI 2020 is "smarter" than I wish it were. I wish it would just to a full backup to the E drive without looking to see if it is the "right" E drive. Is there a way for this to work like it did with TI 2014, or am I doomed to create 2 jobs for each USB hard drive, and be sure that the correct drive is matched to the correct biweekly job? The log follows:

Looking at the log file it is obvious that the program was looking for a HDD that was not attached.

While it was (apparently) possible to have one backup task for full backup with ATI 2014 but use two USB HDD that will not work with ATI 2020 (or 2016 to 2019). You need to have two separate backup tasks; and use the "upon event option with "when external device is connected" (see screenshot). When you attach the USB drive the backup will take place without further intervention on your part.
