ATI 2020 not updating local GUI
For the last month or so I've noticed that when I launch ATI 2020 program to check my backup status that the Acronis Cloud Replicate progress bar is stuck at "Calculating time remaining" and that the "Last backup was created 6/19/2020."
In fact since 6/19/2020 ATI has created another chain (* -0005.tibx) and added 3 more weekly backups, the current one was created last night 7-10-2020. Also, even though my local GUI never moves off of "Calculating time remaining" I have been able to restore a random file deleted weeks ago from the cloud back to my desktop.
Sorry if this seems picky as ATI does seem to be protecting my data, I just don't like to be in the dark about my backup status.
Attached find a screenshot of my unchanging "Replica" screen taken on 7-11-2020.
Thanks, Ed

Steve Smith wrote:Ed, what is your upload speed from your computer to the internet provided by your service provider? Your backup size of 250GB is going to take a long time to upload unless you have very high upload speeds, and the main disadvantage of using replication is that it has to upload a whole lot more data than would be the case for a direct backup to the Acronis Cloud.
Yes, the initial backup will take quite a while. I have a 96/36 Mbps cable connection, and the time for backup of the replica will be much longer when the last backup was a full backup rather than an incremental. On my connection replicating a 250GB drive would take between 12 and 24 hours. Also, you will need to closely monitor your cleanup rules as you could very rapidly run out of storage. Under the best conditions I have never had a backup speed exceeding 25 Mbps, and that was some time ago. One time I saw momentary burst at over 30 but it was just a burst.

Thankyou Steve and Ian,
My initial concern about the GUI not updating since 6-19-2020 has changed somewhat. When I opened my local GUI again just now (10am 7-16-2020) it was unchanged from my attached screenshot from 7-11. After I refreshed (f5) the screen just now it has changed (new screenshot attached, 7-16-2020) and indicates "The backup to Acronis cloud failed." The "Last backup" is still 6/19/2020 which is wrong.
Steve, I'm going to take your advice to create a separate backup to Cloud, incremental backups after the first full backup if I understand correctly.
I just tested and I'm getting 100+ Mbps Up and Download. Ian you are absolutely right about it taking forever to replicate at my former speed (DSL) ~3 Mbps. In fact I never was able to complete a replication until fibre optic became available to me a few months ago. Since then it appears that I have at least 1 solid replication on Acronis Cloud and I've been able to retrieve a simple file from the cloud. Though I was surprised that I wasn't given the option to replace it to it's original location.
I'd really appreciate any recommendations you guys might make on initial cleanup rules for the cloud.
Thanks again for your thoughtful input,
Ed
