True Image 2020 Error Message: File System error is found. Consider checking the disc using the disc check utility. i have done this 3 times now and disc check says "no errors" Help please Mike

Mike, welcome to these public User Forums.

What is the context for this error message, how many disk drives are involved in the backup task, how many partitions present on those disk drives?

What options have you used for CHKDSK for the Source & Target drives?

Note: that CHKDSK only works for drives / partitions that have a Windows drive letter assigned, i.e. CHKDSK C: /F will check for file system errors on drive C:  The OS drive often has other hidden / system partitions which do not have a drive letter but may cause this type of issue.

Dedicated diagnostic utilities from the disk manufacturers take the longest time to complete the checks, but provide the most accurate methods of checking whether the disk is good or needs replacement:

 - Western Digital drives: Data Lifeguard Diagnostic for Windows

 - Seagate disks: SeaTools for Windows

 - HGST disks: HGST Windows Drive Fitness Test (WinDFT)

 - Intel SSDs: Intel Solid State Drive Toolbox

 - Samsung drives: Samsung Magician

 - ADATA drives: ADATA SSD ToolBox

 - Kingston SSDs: Kingston SSD Toolbox, Kingston SSD Manager

 - Transcend SSDs: Transcend SSD Scope

 - Silicon Power disks: SP ToolBox

 - Toshiba disks: Toshiba PC Diagnostic Tool Utility

- Crucial disks: Crucial Storage Executive

Seagate   st350032ns    downloading and running Seatools now,

 

i had intended for this t go in the in the True Image 2020  Forum.

If that is the appropriate place can it be moved please ?

Backing up from C drive to cloud. The hard drive was from  a 2nd hand

computer i bought a while ago, almost the only component that i re used.

i have a brand new Seagate 1TB drive that i was going to pop in anyway.

i will do that and move everything over to that and see how it goes from there.

Ok, that issue seems to be fixed. Now we have " The backup failed. Please ensure that

destination 'atis:///ob? is accessible.

Reselect the Destination for the task again in the main GUI - some operations on partitions / drives can cause the drive / partition identifier to change and give this type of error.
