Backup correctly created but failed. Where's the log file?

Thread needs solution

I installed True image after a total clean of my computer and OS (Windows 10) reinstalling.

Every time that True image makes the backup (Differential mode), at the end it's correctly created, but "failed". Where I can find, I assume, a log file to view where this error happens?

Probably it's only an unaccessible system file or similar, but until today I don't find anything that indicates the exact error.

Thank you very much!

Paolo, welcome to these public User Forums.

Please download the MVP Log Viewer tool (link in my signature below) and use this to review the log file for your backup operation. This should provide more information on why you are seeing any notification messages?

What type of backup are you making here?
Is this a Disks & Partitions backup or of Files & Folders.  Only the former (Disks) is capable of recovering your system if needed.

What source selection are you using?  Is this 'Entire PC' and if so, how many disk drives are installed in the computer?

ATI normally uses the Microsoft VSS snapshot service to capture all locked system files etc so should not find any inaccessible system files unless you have other security software blocking access or else have some type of encryption present.

Thank you Steve! I need to see the log file because I remember when I had the old Acronis version: the same failure message the first time I setted the backup. By reading the log file I discovered that was only an encrypted not vital file, so I excluded it and the other successive backups was all done correctly.

My backup is for disk and partitons, with differential mode. In my computer there are 8 hard disks.

I controlled the last backup and all files are perfect, there's only this strange error. Now I try to view the log files. Where are the log files, please? I don't remember where they are located...

Paolo, if you download / use the MVP Log Viewer tool, this will give you access to most of the log files.  With ATI 2020 there is one key change for Disk backups that now write all the more detailed diagnostic messages in the backup_worker logs which the MVP Log Viewer does not offer any option to view (the log viewer was created before this change).

The logs are found at C:\ProgramData\Acronis\TrueImageHome\Logs
