Can't add RAID driver to winpe bootable rescue

Thread needs solution

I choose "rescue media builder > advanced WinPE-based media" and I have tried both the "windows recovery environment" and the Windows 10 ADK option and both fail when I try and add my AMD RAID drivers.

Without the RAID drivers it sees my RAID 1 array as two separate drives rather than a single mirrored drive and thus I can't do my recovery.

See screenshots.

I'm about ready to abandon True Image 2020 and find a different product.  Nothing works right.  This should be simple but every direction I go using True Image fails because of some stupid problem with the software.

Any suggestions on how I can get this rescue USB built with the raid drivers?

Oh, and if I use the LINUX version the wired USB mouse and wired USB keyboard don't work and it doesn't seem to support adding drivers.

There are two inf files in the AMD RAID driver. Acronis is only adding one when you choose the folder. Here's the trick. Make two folders. In one folder put only one inf file along with all the other files. In the second folder put the other inf file along with all the other files. Now you will be able to add the two folders one at a time.

Thank you for the suggestion.  I have a folder for RCBOTTOM and a folder for RCCONFIG and a folder for RCRAID and they are separate each having the one .INF file.  I add them individually as you suggested.   Then it fails when it tries to build the USB rescue media.

That's another problem. You'll need to do a format as FAT32 on the USB drive before building. Acronis doesn't format the drive during the build. The USB drive needs to be 32 GB or less in size.

You may want to just use the MVP Tool to build WinPE media. Both issues will not cause a problem. You can have all the AMD RAID drivers in one folder and the USB drive will be formatted during the build. I would suggest you remove the supplied Intel RAID drivers from the Drivers_Custom\x64 folder and put the AMD RAID folder there instead.

Paul,

Thank you. I may try that.  I just (a minute ago) bought Macrium reflect and I'm going to give it a shot.  True Image 2020 has been way too buggy.  I may not get reflect to work either but at this point I'm sort of done beating my head against the wall with true image.

I have gone at least 4 different directions trying to get true image to work and I keep hitting road blocks with the software where it just does something stupid.

I would expect Macrium to work.

I would suggest you opt out of the CBT option during the Macrium install. It only is used to speed up inc. & dif. backups. It has been very buggy over the past two versions.
