Incremental backup not restoring?

Thread needs solution

Hello Friends,

I am running Acronis True Image 2020, build38530 on Windows 10 x64.I have an incremental daily backup set up, with full versions every five Days.

When I restore a version of this Backup two things happen:

1) The restoration takes only a few seconds

2) It does not restore or delete any files.i.e:

I made a folder on the Desktop with a text file in it, called "before backup".

Then I ran a BackupI created another txt file called "after backup".

I deleted the "before backup" txt.

When I restored to the last Backup, nothing in the folder changed.

The "before backup" txt was still gone and the "after backup" was still there.

Did I set up something wrong here?Hope you can help me.

With regards

Julius

Not sure what is going on here. When you click on the Activity tab for the backup task, what information is give about recent backups - attaching a screenshot would be very useful. Once we have that information it will help in deciding if it is worthwhile looking at the log files.

Possible explanations for what you are seeing:

  • If you have multiple backup created on the same date, you need to be sure that you select correct one to recover; if you accidentally selected the wrong one
  • That the location for the file a is folder that is excluded from the backup task.
